Annual Rare Disease Scientific Workshop – Virtual
The 2021 Scientific Workshop will be a hybrid virtual and in-person event to maximize opportunities for in-person collaboration while facilitating meaningful participation from those unable to travel. This one day event will include a combination of session formats designed to include expert panels, case study presentations from rare disease stakeholders, and robust discussion sessions to create actionable recommendations.
Workshop Goals:
• Identify the research, regulatory and access policy barriers to increasing the utilization of the Accelerated Approval pathway for rare disease therapeutic development by examining a series of real-world case studies.
• Generate a 1, 3- and 5-year action plan for how the Accelerated Approval pathway can be optimized to meet the critical need for new rare disease therapies.
