International Thyroid Congress (ITC)
The 16th International Thyroid Congress (ITC) is scheduled for September 8-13th, 2020 in Xi’an, China. Xi’an is in Shaanxi province which is located about 402 miles northwest of Wuhan in Hubei province. Wuhan is the center of the coronavirus outbreak and public transportation to this area has been closed down. The situation is fluid, with more being learned about transmission and potential health risks as additional cases of coronavirus-related illness are reported.
At the current time the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a Level 3 travel advisory to avoid nonessential travel to China. The US Department of State has issued a Level 4 travel advisory: do not to travel to China. The World Health Organization has declared the coronavirus outbreak to be a public health issue of international concern.
