Dr. Maloof is an internationally recognized and trained surgical subspecialist in cornea and eye plastic surgery, with significant contributions at the international level. He received his medical degree and basic medical training at the Prince of Wales Hospital and then master’s in Biomedical Engineering at University of New South Wales (UNSW).

Dr. Maloof provides subspecialty medical and surgical expertise in the areas like watery eye management, thyroid eye disease, eyelid surgery, keratoconus, cosmetic surgery to the upper and middle face, corneal transplantation, endonasal endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy, orbital surgery and tumour reconstructive surgery, and Mohs Surgery.

Dr. Maloof’s unique holistic approach has arisen from spending 3 years in England obtaining advanced surgical skills in the traditionally separate fields of cornea and oculoplastic surgery. On return to Australia in 2000, Dr. Maloof was immediately appointed to run the surgical services in the ophthalmic department at Westmead hospital.

In 2000, Dr. Maloof pioneered and patented PerfectCapsule™, developed for the prevention of capsule opacification, the most significant complication of cataract surgery in children. Dr. Maloof has also described and developed the technique of stereotactic 3-dimensional computerised guidance during orbital surgery for thyroid eye disease.
