Dr. James Garrity is an Emeritus Whitney and Betty MacMillan Professor of Ophthalmology at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. He received his medical degree from University of Minnesota Medical School followed by internship in Neurosurgery Rotation and a Flexible internship from Hennepin County Medical Center. He also completed his residency in ophthalmology from Mayo Graduate School of Medicine, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and fellowship in neuro-ophthalmology and orbital surgery from Allegheny General Hospital, University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh.
Dr. Garrity is board certified in ophthalmology from American Board of Ophthalmology and has an experience in treating conditions like cataracts, Graves’ ophthalmopathy and orbital fracture.
Currently Dr. Garrity is an honorary member of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, member of clinical practice Committee in the Department of Ophthalmology and member of Committee on Examination Props in the American Board of Ophthalmology.
