Dr. Thomas Hwang, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist in Redwood City, California. He is currently licensed to practice medicine in California. He is affiliated with Kaiser Permanente Redwood City Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara Medical Center.

He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Sciences from Harvard University. He made an initial stop at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) to earn a PhD in Biomedical Sciences studying synaptic transmission in the vertebrate retina and then completed both his medical degree and ophthalmology residency at Stanford University. 

As an oculoplastic surgeon, he addresses issues that pertain to the eyelids, eye socket, or tear drainage systems, such as functional malposition of the eyelids, tumors of the eyelids or eye socket, thyroid eye disease, and blockages of tear drainage.
