Victor Maurice Elner is a Professor of ophthalmology and visual sciences at University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center. His clinical interests include evaluation and treatment of eyelid and orbital tumors, thyroid (Graves’) eye disease, eyelid and brow ptosis, eyelid malpositions, lacrimal system abnormalities, comprehensive ophthalmic pathology and cranial base disorders.
Dr. Elner received his medical degree from University of Chicago followed by residencies in ophthalmology and pathology from the same University and fellowship in ophthalmic pathology from Armed Forces Institute of Pathology and another fellowship in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery from University of Wisconsin.
Dr. Elner’s specialities are ophthalmology and anatomic pathology. His research areas are mechanisms of retinal, orbital, and corneal inflammation and immunity, orbital diseases and tumors, and lid and orbital anatomy.
