Harbor -UCLA Medical Center is one of only five level trauma centers in Los Angeles County and a major academic teaching hospital with nearly 450 residents and fellows in over 34 accredited programs on site as well as trainees from multiple other disciplines contributing to their mission.
The Division of Endocrinology at Harbor- UCLA is a part of the Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute (LA BioMed). LA BioMed is the South Bay’s premier biomedical research and education institute and is a non-profit medical research institute affiliated with Harbor-UCLA Medical center and the UCLA School of Medicine.
Thyroid Fine Needle Aspiration Clinic at Harbor-UCLA provides patient care where patients are screened for the presence of thyroid nodules. If necessary, thyroid ultrasonography and fine needle aspiration are performed within the context of the clinic.
Endocrine fellows are trained to assess and manage ambulatory patients with nodular thyroid disease. Subspeciality trainees gain experience with thyroid palpation, performance of thyroid fine needle aspiration and thyroid ultrasonography.
