UCSF Thyroid Clinic experts diagnose and treat patients with various thyroid disorders. These include hyperparathyroidism, hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, thyroid cancer, thyroid nodules and goiter.
At UCSF thyroid clinic, the endocrinologists care for patients with thyroid cancer, thyroid nodules and other thyroid disorders. Dr. Chienying Liu is an endocrinologist who cares for patients with endocrine neoplasia (tumors of hormone producing glands, such as adrenal tumors, pheochromocytomas, paragangliomas, parathyroid tumors, and pituitary tumors).
Liu’s current research interests are evaluating the risk factors for distant metastases of thyroid cancer (cancer that has spread from its original location) and the effectiveness of radioactive iodine in treating it.
UCSF head and neck endocrine (thyroid and parathyroid) surgery provides comprehensive care for patients with thyroid and parathyroid diseases, using both surgical and non-surgical approaches.
