The Pediatric Thyroid Center at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is one of the few centers in the nation dedicated to the unique medical needs of children and adolescents with thyroid disease. The center’s multidisciplinary team of experts offer an unparalleled level of expertise and the resources needed to provide optimal and individualized care for each child with thyroid disease.

For patients facing thyroid cancer, the Pediatric Thyroid Center provides experienced surgical services and radiotherapy. We have refined the techniques and skills needed to perform fine-needle aspiration biopsies (FNAB) of thyroid nodules in children. We are also one of the very few centers in the United States to offer this level of expertise in evaluation and care of pediatric patients with thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer, all in a family-centered, child-focused hospital.

Our team also works closely with the Thyroid Center at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, which offers our young adult patients a smooth transition of care.
