Dr. Carter is a Professor of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. He is a Chairman and Head in the Department of Ophthalmology and holds a joint appointment as a Professor of otolaryngology at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine.
He is a graduate of Purdue University Pharmacy School and earned his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his ophthalmology residency training at the University of Michigan and oculoplastics and orbital surgery fellowship at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
